The sexual embraces of an orphaned girl and teenage Christian hiding in the forest may not be as easy to abandon as our private spirituality. With help from two former Polish soldiers, they thrive. It is the 1940s. Yet intuitively, we sense there are bewildering wartime experiences, an interplay between shocking sexuality and the human person.
