Jeanette fondly looks back on the years when the dead poltergeists came to rural Alabama. Ever since the traumatic death of her neighbor’s horses, she is frequently summoned to own a few acres of land and become engulfed in things that aren't really there. However, she toils alongside strange and unnatural things, praying to the television screen for a tiny dark God. Meanwhile, the ghost of the farmer’s wife’s little sister held fast to her dreams of someday opening her own business.
